Q. What is the purpose of a self-serve book fair?
A. A self-serve
book fair is designed to bring valuable resources to your school, customized
to your in-service or teacher training topic(s).
Q. Who chooses the
product?
A. You do—and
we add even more than you ask for. We provide you with a CSB catalog.
You get to choose from it—and also from the 900+ titles offered on
our Web site, www.crystalsprings.com—those items you would like to
have for sale at your book fair. In addition to those specific requests,
we will also include other products recommended by your presenter(s),
plus some of our top-selling products.
Q. Is there a minimum
sale requirement?
A. Absolutely
not; our book fairs are completely pressure free.
Q. What costs are
involved?
A. Other than
paying for (or collecting payment for) the product you sell, there
are no costs to the school. CSB pays all expenses for shipping to your
facility and back to us. Available in the continental U.S. (and to APO and FPO addresses) only.
Q. What materials
do I need?
A. All required
materials are provided by CSB, with the exception of tables and of
start-up cash (we recommend you start with $120.00). We will send you
inventory, a cash box, calculators, credit card slips (if necessary),
packing tape, return shipping labels, and envelopes.
Q. Who is responsible
for the selling and inventory of materials?
A. Anyone you
feel is trustworthy is fine with us. Parent volunteers and responsible
young adults (ages 16 and up) are usually a great choice.
Q. What if inventory
is missing upon arrival?
A. Simply contact
your CSB representative immediately and he or she will make a note
of any discrepancies.
Q. What are our payment
options?
A. Your school
may choose either of two options:
Personal funds. In
this case, your educators pay for their selections in cash, or by credit
cards or checks payable directly to CSB. All funds are subject to any
applicable state taxes, and it is the school’s responsibility to collect
those taxes at the time of the sale. Any cash received must be exchanged
for a money order prior to forwarding funds to CSB.
School funds. Educators
pay with cash or check only; checks are made payable to the school.
The school, in turn, pays CSB with a school check or credit card, or
submits a purchase order, after all sales are complete. If you send
a purchase order, we will invoice the school. A note of your tax-exempt
number or a copy of your certificate of exemption must be included
with the payment.
