Dr. Rasinski is a professor at Kent State University. His interests include phonics and reading instruction, teacher development in literacy education, and working with struggling readers. Dr. Rasinski is an editor for the
Journal of Literacy Research and served on the Board of Directors of the International Reading Association. He has written numerous articles and books on effective reading instruction, including
The Fluent Reader, Fast Start for Early Readers, 3-Minute Reading Assessments, and
Daily Word Ladders. Dr. Rasinski is the recipient of the College Reading Associations A.B. Herr Award for scholarly contributions to literacy education.
